Haralson Sheriff Foundation Community Scholarship
The purpose of the Haralson Sheriff Foundation Community Scholarship is to provide funding for Haralson County student-residents (Bremen High School & Haralson County High School) in their pursuit of furthering their education in the prospective field of Criminal Justice. This field of study includes but is not limited to the following areas:
Law Enforcement
Corrections
Forensic Science
Business Administration
Two students will be chosen from the two high schools (one from each school) in our county for this scholarship and each scholarship will be in the amount of $3000.00.
Eligibility
Applicants must be residents of Haralson County for a minimum of six months prior to the application deadline.
Applicants must currently be high school seniors or enrolled in college programs where they have attained freshman status.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
Application and Selection
Applicant must:
Submit a completed scholarship application form from the school, or download the one from our website, by Monday, April 20, 2026.
Be available for an interview with the Haralson Sheriff Foundation Community Scholarship Committee if requested.
Candidate selection will be made by the Haralson Sheriff Foundation Community Scholarship Committee with awards announced on May 8th, 2026.
At the discretion of the Haralson Sheriff Foundation Community Scholarship Committee, recipients may be asked to attend and participate in community policing annual events.
Awards
Up to two $3,000.00 scholarships may be awarded each year, one at each high school (Bremen High School & Haralson County High School).
Scholarships will be awarded directly to the college and/or university in the recipient's name.
Essay Questions
Trust and integrity are characteristics of any professional and are part of the core values of the Haralson Sheriff Foundation and Haralson County Sheriff's Office. AI is great for grammar and style assistance, but not for experiences and original thought. Essay questions must be answered by you. We want to hear your response, in your words. Any responses to essay questions found to be generated by AI will be disqualified from the scholarship selection process.
Choose one of the following essay questions and write a short essay (150 - 250 words):
What inspired you to pursue a Criminal Justice Degree, and how do you envision using this education to contribute positively to law enforcement or the justice system?
Can you share a specific experience or accomplishment that demonstrates your commitment to community service or public safety?
How will receiving this scholarship support your academic and career goals, and what impact do you hope to make in the field of criminal justice?
